Minis Prize and Exhibition

This year the Minis Exhibition and prize incorporates a new category in addition to the very popular 10 x 10 x 10cm exhibition. The new category will exhibit works measuring 9 x 5 inches.

The 9 x 5 exhibition draws inspiration from the 9 by 5 Impression Exhibition held in Melbourne in 1889 which featured works by, among others, Arthur Streeton, Charles Condor and Tom Roberts. 9 x 5 (inches) is a reference to the size of the standard cigar box lid on which many of the works were painted. Works in the 1889 exhibition were mainly landscapes but also included portraits and still life.

Boards cut to size for the 9 x 5 exhibition are available for collection in Thirroul from December 2019.  Follow this link for collection details and instructions for preparation of your own board or canvas here.

The exhibition will be held at the Thirroul District Community Centre and Library.
